Never heard of the CCA Day? Collector Car Appreciation Day is an annual celebration to raise awareness of the role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. The day was first recognized on July 9, 2010 due, in part, to U.S. Senate resolution S. Res 513, sponsored by Senators Jon Tester (D-MT) and Richard Burr (R-NC).

Hundreds of events were staged nationwide to celebrate the first CCAD in 2010 and it continues today. Thousands attended events ranging from car cruises and shows to small-business open houses and “drive your car to work” displays. This day of celebration was organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and its Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) and Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) Councils, acknowledging the importance of the automobile in American culture as the inspiration for much music, literature, photography, cinema, fashion and other artistic pursuits.

Ron Cambra joined no less than a dozen other Greater Lost Angeles speed and specialty shops in organizing a celebration of this Appreciation Day by hosting an Open House and Barbecue for hundreds of past and potentially new customers for his ever-expanding speed shop. As Ron stated, “ We’re committed to serving you with quality and value. Bring your car in today for an inspection, and see what our commitment to quality is all about! We may not be related, but you’ll feel like we’re family. We want make the process as easy and enjoyable as possible for you. We genuinely care about your car and your experience, and it shows. Our first-time customers continually become our long term customers time and time again, choosing us for all their fabrication needs.”

Held from 3PM until 8PM, there wasn’t a parking spot to be had on the street or nearby street parking as street rod, hot rod and truck enthusiasts continued to arrive for this Friday event. Check out the attached images to see a sampling of the Cambra crew’s work, which now has a waiting list of years for a complete hot rod fabrication! And the fun rolls on.
